Take Enmaru, for example. Altitude’s Japanese restaurant was brought to Indonesia by renowned Japanese chef Izakaya. The intimate and refined surroundings offer a high-end yet relaxing ambience accented by the fresh and modern Japanese fare Enmaru is becoming renowned for.
But there is so much more to Altitude, and as the Central Jakarta sky bar and dining establishment celebrates its first year of existence a celebration is underway, which showcases the pioneering, unique and diverse style of the food and beverage stars behind it all.
The Culinary Feast 2014, a series of exciting curated events, coincides with Altitude’s one-year anniversary, and continues this Wednesday, April 16, with an intimate wine tasting and dinner at GAIA Ristorante.
The wine tasting, presented by Barone Francesco Ricasoli, the president of Barone Ricasoli, will see the company’s five most premium wines paired with a five-course degustation menu by chef Diego Chiarini, one of the founders of GAIA. He has worked in some of the world’s leading restaurants, including BICE (Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo), voted one of ten best Italian restaurants in the world.
Barone Ricasoli is the 32nd Barone of Brolio and bought back his family’s company from foreign ownership in 1993. Each year the Barone welcomes over 30,000 visitors for castle garden, museum and cellar tours, wine tastings and Tuscan meals at Osteria del Castello. Barone Ricasoli produces over 3 million bottles of wine per year with 80 percent of the total production exported to more than 50 countries in five continents.

Then, on Thursday, April 17, the celebrations at Altitude continue as famed Australian chef Luke Mangan, the celebrity name behind Altitude’s Australian modern restaurant Salt Grill, joins Altitude for an exclusive three-course dinner.
Constantly at the height of innovation, Enmaru’s five-course degustation dinner on April 24 is presented by a guest chef — legendary Japanese Hideki Takahashi — founder of the Muteki restaurant chain and Iron Chef judge.
The Culinary Feast 2014 culminates in a night of anniversary celebrations, free flow beverages and prizes on May 9, with any diner who spends Rp 1,000,000 or more throughout Altitude’s celebrations being eligible to enter the competition.
Business class flights from Turkish Airlines to Europe form the grand prize, with Bali accommodation at RIMBA Jimbaran Bali and many other prizes also up for grabs.
